Trivia
The background of
the Old Guys has proven to be valuable in
helping set up the race you see today. Work
experience of the Old Guys includes: machinist,
carpenter, I/T manager, electronics engineer,
truck driver, banker, and computer hardware and
software support specialists. Tim raced cars for
a number of years and Chuck has experience as a
radio announcer. All of the Old Guys are former
Cub Scout and Boy Scout leaders. |

Who Are These Guys?
A
Bunch of Old Guys And A Track is just about what it says.
Many of us are
former Cub Scout leaders who helped build a 1st class
Pinewood Derby track a few years ago and are interested in helping other
Cub Scout Packs have a really great Pinewood Derby experience. That
track was purchased from Pack 514 in Coon Rapids, MN, and the guys
formed a not-for-profit organization to benefit Scouting. All time is
donated and all proceeds from running the derby are used to improve the
track and the race package.
The Old Guys
What Do They Provide?
The
Old Guys will provide a complete race package for your Pinewood Derby.
We will still need additional help from the Pack leaders, but we handle
many of the details and much of the operation of the Pinewood Derby.
Our
services include:

A minimum of (3) Old Guys
to run the Derby

Complete set up, take
down, and operation of the Derby track

Suggestions for
organizing and running the Derby

A 9' x 12' screen with
projector for race software and other presentations.

Software to run the race
including an electronic finish gate.

Decorations to enhance
the atmosphere including flags, banners, and crowd control
stanchions with a racing theme.

An announcer to call the
races.

A sound system for music
and public address announcements

Suggested layout for
setting up and rules for running the Derby

Construction and
finishing tips sheet for the Scouts

Cool personalized
Pinewood Derby drivers license for each scout

Opening Ceremony
including National Anthem and flag slide show

When staffing allows -
digital slideshow of Pack cars

When staffing allows -
background music, Scout interviews, Derby trivia plus pre-show
broadcast of sports, weather, almanac etc.
